Upon completion of Vogtle 3&4, the site will produce enough safe, reliable, affordable and carbon-free electricity to power 1 million homes and businesses.

The new units are incorporating safety and technology enhancements that improve Southern Nuclear’s stellar safety record. At the site, significant work has been completed as the company works to bring the two new units online. In order to continue this safety reputation, SmartGuard was enlisted to make over 500 custom acrylic protective covers for their switch gear panels. Made to spec with .25″ polycarbonate,  4″ wide x 5.5″ height and 2.5″ depth. All edges rounded and smooth, .5″ flange sides only, with neodymium magnets applied to the corners and flange for a strong and sturdy hold.
